Hoa Phat’s monthly steel sales reached over 1 million tonnes for the first time

In March 2021, Hoa Phat Group achieved the steel sales of more than one million a month including steel billet, construction steel, hot rolled coil (HRC), steel pipe and galvanized steel sheet. This has been the record sale in a month of Hoa Phat Group so far.

The finished construction steel set a new milestone of nearly 480,000 tonnes, up 36 per cent over the same period last year. Of which the exports of finished steel reached 80,000 tonnes, an increase of 18 per cent compared to March 2020 that had the highest finished steel exports in 2020. Steel billet exports posted 32 per cent year-on-year increase with 178,000 tonnes. HRC sales reached 238,000 tonnes, an increase of 36 per cent over the previous month.

The finished construction steel set a new milestone in March

Also in March, Hoa Phat Group supplied the market with more than 90,000 tonnes of steel pipes, up 73 per cent over the same period last year. Hoa Phat steel sheet sales reached 31,000 tonnes, four times higher than March 2020. Of which the export volume of corrugated iron products was nearly 14,000 tonnes.

A representactive of Hoa Phat Group said the steel sale last month reached the record level of one million tonne was because the capacity of its factories has been improved sharply as the trial operation of blast furnace No. 4 at Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex has been increasingly stable since January 2021. In addition, this is the peak time for civil construction market while infrastructure projects have been accelerated nationwide. Many large public investment projects use Hoa Phat steel such as North-South Expressway’s Ninh Binh - Thanh Hoa section, My Thuan-Trung Luong Expressway etc.

HRC sale in the first quarter of the year reached 665,000 tonnes

In the first quarter of 2021, Hoa Phat Group achieved sales volume of more than 2.16 million tonnes of various types of steel. Construction finished steel sale reached 855,000 tonnes, up more than 17 per cent from the same period last year. Of which finished steel products export was 147,000 tonnes, posting 10 per cent year-on-year increase. Exported steel billet was over 386,000 tonnes, increasing 27 per cent from the corresponding period last year. HRC sale in the first quarter of the year reached 665,000 tonnes, an increase of 75 per cent compared to the fourth quarter of 2020. Hoa Phat Steel Pipe recorded 184,000 tonnes after the January-March period, representing 27 per cent year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, the group's sales volume of galvanized steel sheet also increased strongly year-on-year.

Hoa Phat Group set sale targets of 5 million tonnes of finished construction steel and steel billet; 2.7 million tonnes of HRC, 920,000 tonnes of steel pipes and 300,000 tonnes of galvanized steel sheets this year.
