Hoa Phat’s HRC achived 252,000 tonnes in January

In January 2021, Hoa Phat's crude steel production reached the highest level ever with more than 670,000 tonnes, up 67 per cent over the same period last year. Hoa Phat steel sales include finished construction steel, steel billet and hot rolled coil (HRC) reached 577,000 tonnes. In which, HRC has the strongest growth, reaching 252,000 tonnes, increasing 48 per cent compared to December 2020.

Finished construction steel recorded an output of 186,000 tonnes, representing 6 per cent year-on-year increase. In the first month of this year, Hoa Phat exported 37,000 tonnes of finished construction steel, increased 38 per cent over the same period last year. In addition, the amount of steel billets serving the domestic and foreign markets was nearly 140,000 tonnes, up 40 per cent compared to January 2020.

The operation of the No. 4 blast furnace of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex in January officially raised the group's total crude steel output to 8 million tonnes a year. At the same time, its monthly crude steel production reached to the highest level ever. This is the basis for Hoa Phat Group to boost production and supply HRC for the domestic market.

With the advantage of large-scale production from iron ore, the production cost of Hoa Phat’s HRC is quite competitive, helping mechanical manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam have more quality raw materials and being more active.

In 2021, the group sets a higher production growth target of steel products than the previous year. Hoa Phat strives to achieve 2.7 million tonnes of HRC, more tahn 5 million tonnes of construction steel and billet.
