First 5 months of 2020, steel pipe exportation increased by 78% over the same period in 2019

From January 2020 to May 2020 steel pipe export of Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company rose 78% over the same period in 2019.

This is a remarkable figure in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, HRC price plummeted, and the market demand dropped. According to the 4-month accumulated of the Vietnam Steel Association, steel pipe exports of companies within the association was 16,753 tons, a decrease of 9.1% compared to the same period in 2019.

Hoa Phat’s market diversification policy has positively resulted in maintaining the rise of exports revenue even when the pandemic broke out globally, some countries issued quarantine order and social distancing which impacts negatively on the import activities. In the first five months of 2020, steel pipe production of Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Co. Ltd exports rose 78% over the same period in 2019. Products that are frequently imported by foreign companies are black steel pipes, hot dipped steel pipes, and galvanized iron pipes.
