Since late 2023, Hoa Phat Group has joined hands with many localities across the country to support the eradication of dilapidated and temporary houses for disadvantaged and policy-beneficiary households. Specifically, Hoa Phat has contributed over VND 80 billion to help provinces such as Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Thai Binh, etc…, to build more than 1,500 homes. The Group’s support has significantly helped these localities complete their housing elimination programs ahead of schedule.
Mrs. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, presented a certificate of merit to Mr. Ho Duc Tho, Deputy Director of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Company, representing Hoa Phat Group.
Recently, provinces such as Quang Ngai, Thai Binh, and Phu Yen have awarded certificates of merit to Hoa Phat Group for its outstanding contributions to the 2025 program to eliminate dilapidated and temporary housing in their areas.
In 2024 alone, Hoa Phat supported Quang Ngai with VND 30 billion, Phu Yen with VND 20 billion, and Thai Binh with VND 1 billion to implement the program in accordance with the Prime Minister’s directive. Earlier, in late 2023 and early 2024, the Group provided VND 25 billion to Soc Trang and Tra Vinh to repair and build new homes for poor households. Also in 2023, Hoa Phat donated VND 8 billion to construct housing for poor households and Agent Orange victims in Hung Yen province.
As of June 20, 2025, Quang Ngai province had fully completed its program to eliminate dilapidated and temporary housing — two months ahead of the deadline set by the Prime Minister — with 6,331/6,331 homes completed, achieving 100% of the target. The total funding for the program was VND 319.14 billion, of which VND 261.577 billion came from the state budget and VND 57.563 billion from organizations, individuals, and businesses. Hoa Phat contributed VND 30 billion, accounting for 9.4% of the total.
Mr. Vu Xuan Ha, representative of Hoa Phat Group (fifth from the right), received a certificate of merit from Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee for organizations with outstanding contributions to the housing program.
In Phu Yen, as of June 25, the province had nearly completed its goal of eliminating makeshift and dilapidated houses for poor, near-poor, and policy-beneficiary households ahead of the planned August 31 deadline. A total of 2,235 homes were eliminated at a cost of over VND 218.7 billion. Hoa Phat supported Phu Yen with VND 20 billion, accounting for 9.1% of the total program cost.
At the summary conference of the 2025 program in Quang Ngai, Mrs. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Provincial Party Secretary, acknowledged and expressed gratitude to all organizations and individuals who contributed funding, enabling the program to be carried out promptly and effectively — providing stable homes so that people can “settle down and thrive.”
Representing Phu Yen’s leadership, Mrs. Cao Thi Hoa An, Provincial Party Secretary and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, praised the enterprises, organizations, and individuals involved in the program and affirmed that its success is a vivid demonstration of solidarity, compassion, responsibility, and determination in improving people’s living conditions.
In response to the Government’s call — as well as that of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and various ministries — to eliminate makeshift housing nationwide by the end of 2025, Hoa Phat Group committed to supporting the construction of more than 1,500 houses for poor and disadvantaged households across the country.
In addition, Hoa Phat Group donated VND 10 billion to Lao Cai province to help residents recover from Typhoon Yagi (Storm No. 3) and rebuild their homes. This included building 28 new, solid houses in A Lu commune, Bat Xat district, worth VND 5.6 billion; providing roofing sheets for 55 houses, as well as schools and community centers in Lang Nu and Nam Tong villages, valued at VND 2.6 billion; and distributing 2,000 gift packages worth VND 2 billion to residents in Bat Xat, Bac Ha, and Bao Yen districts.
