In the first 6 months of 2014, Hoa Phat Group reached sales volume 445,000 tons of construction steel, up 37.74% over the same period. According to the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), HPG is one of VSA members which had good growth in market share in the first months of the year with an increase from 15.2% at the end of 2013 to 18% in 6/2014.
Meanwhile, as reported by VSA, the total of steel sales volume of the Association in the first 6 months reached nearly 2.5 million tons, up 8.39% over the same period. That means sales volume growth of Hoa Phat steel is much higher compared to the average in the first six months of 2014.
For the first time, the south and central regions achieved sales volume up to 45,000 tons for each region within the first 6 months. This proves that the appropriate and flexible market policy to these areas has gradually brought positive results to Hoa Phat.
Hoa Phat Steel always operates full capacity to meet the market
Constructive steel consumption was not only positive in domestic market but Hoa Phat continuously exported billet to the Philippines, Thailand earlier this year. In particular, in 6/2014, HPG has exported wire rod successfully to Australia and contracted to provide construction steel for Laos partners. This is a breakthrough in the market searching and expansion of Hoa Phat steel on the international and regional market.
Besides steel, Hoa Phat steel pipe is also entering a new growth cycle, both in terms of production scale and sales volume with an increase of over 30% compared to the first six months of 2013, in particular, welded and galvanized steel pipes growing 66.2% compared to the same period. The second quarter 2014 was first time that Hoa Phat Steel Pipe started to product in Da Nang aiming at proactively responding to the central and Tay Nguyen market, further consolidating its leading position in Vietnam.
