Hoa Phat steel finished to upgrade casting billet line

After more than 5 months of the research and installation, Hoa Phat Steel One member Company Limited has successfully upgraded billet casting line from two lines to three lines, raising capacity of Hoa Phat steel billet plant in Pho Noi A industrial zone, Hung Yen to 300,000 tons per year.

Currently, three line casting machine has stable performance, achieving initial objectives. On the basis of system equipment which imported from Europe and 2- line available casting machine,  engineers and staffs of the company designed, adjusted the control software and responsible for installing the test connection and stable equipment operation.

Explaining on the forcible investing decision for upgrading the electric oven steel billet factory, Mr.Tran Van Nam - Deputy Director of Hoa Phat Steel Company Limited, said: "This was the first plant in the steel segment of Hoa Phat, technology line has been invested since early 2000s, therefore it should be improved to catch up to the strong requirements of modern production, improve quality, reduce costs and serve best for demand of steel rolling plant of the company next years."

The project of upgrading billet casting line is scheduled in the plan for improving the whole factory equipment system. Earlier in 2012, the company has improved and successfully upgraded two arc furnaces and achieved the output of 268,000 tons billet per year, over 22% of designed capacity.
