Hoa Phat exports steel to Australian market

Hoa Phat wire rod will be available in the Australian market and some ASEAN countries since 6/2014. This can be considered as a breakthrough of Hoa Phat in the context of  Vietnam steel industry facing difficulties on consumer market and also a continuation of the success in exporting Hoa Phat steel billet. 

Under the contract, Hoa Phat exports products to the Australian market in two batches from 26/6 and 29/6/2014 with high quality standards of importing partners - SAE J403-91, steel grade SAE1012, U.S. standard. In the Australian market, wire rod is mainly being imported from Indonesia, Taiwan, Turkey ... where ensuring sources and clarity of the origin and quality. Being the first successful exporter of steel products into the Australian market, Hoa Phat has confirmed its capacity on providing product to the fastidious markets.

According to Mrs.Pham Thi Bich Ngoc, Director of Hoa Phat Trading Co., Ltd – member company is responsible for the steel export of the group, despite the volume and value of shipments is not big, this is the first successful step of Hoa Phat Group in the searching and expanding strategy of exporting market, not only for steel billet but also finished construction steel (rebar, wire rod), diversification of markets proactively.

Following the Australian market, Hoa Phat has also signed a contract to supply steel to Laos and step by step introduces its product into the other countries in the region. If the first batches are accepted, then this is an good opportunity for Hoa Phat's products penetrating these markets, affirming the competitiveness of Hoa Phat steel on the international market and the region.

Since early this year, Hoa Phat Trading Company has continuously signed contracts of exporting steel billet to the Philippines, Thailand. The total volume of export orders for partners from late 2013 to 6/2014is about 72,000 tons. As assessment of importers, Hoa Phat steel has the advantage of good and stable quality thanks to using blast furnace technology, delivery time is faster than China, Russia, ....
