Hoa Phat Energy starts to dry oven of phase 2

On 18/06/2013, the coke oven system of phase 2 of Hoa Phat Energy JSC was officially put into drying. This is one of the important preparation steps not only for Hoa Phat Energy Company, but also the whole of Hoa Phat steel integrated complex.

The drying oven ceremony had members of board of directors and all employees of plant and construction contractor representatives. According to Mr. Hoang Duc Thuan - Director of Hoa Phat Energy JSC, kiln drying is the important starting period that affecting the life of the ovens. Through the process of drying, the amount of water in the oven will be gradually released by the drying temperature, the refractory will be stabilized all physicochemical characters to achieve the designed heating state and ready for processing in the long term. After about 60 days of drying, the plant will proceed to load the raw coal to produce.

Drying oven also means that production is about to operate both two phases synchronizingly. This is of great significance to the company and the Group, as it contributes to the total production of the entire plant to 700,000 tons of coke per year and reaching 37MW of generating capacity.

More importantly, it is extremely important preparation step on the coke material for Phase 2 of Hoa Phat steel integrated complex (expected to operate by late August 2013). It is expected that plant will meet 100% of coking coal for both blast furnaces and about 35-40% of the total electricity consumption of the entire complex.
