Hoa Phat completes the overhaul and upgrade of the blast furnace No. 1

After more than 3 months, the overhaul and upgrade for blast furnace No.1 of Hoa Phat steel integrated complex was completed on 16/11. Capacity of the furnace has been raised from 350,000 tons up to 450,000 tons per year, an increase of 20% compared to the previous capacity.

Mr. Ho Duc Tho - Deputy Director of Hoa Phat steel JSC said the overhaul includes many items such as improving material feeding system, water cooling system, heating air furnace , dust filtration system, overhaulling  iron furnace ... The total cost of the overhaul, upgrading equipment for blast furnace 1 is around VND200 billion.

By many different measures in coordination with the contractors, focusing maximum on human and materials, Hoa Phat has completed this work earlier 30 days than originally planned in order to boost production and meet increasing demand of steel in the year end.

Blast furnace No. 1 of Hoa Phat steel integrated complex has been resumed

According to leaders of Hoa Phat Steel Joint Stock Company, the overhaul of the blast furnace 1 and related items helps it more stable operation, increasing steel output while reducing energy consumption and protecting the environment better due to improving the range of auxiliary systems mentioned above.

As expected, from November 20th 2014, the entire Hoa Phat Steel complex will operate with both blast furnaces and the maximum output of 3,200 tons of steel billet per day, equivalent to about 1 million tons per year.
