HCMC – The market had a mixed day with scattered profit taking throughout but still ended on a fairly bright note in heavy trading worth VND3,209.53 billion or US$173.78 million. The VN index gained another 0.36% and ended the day at 534.46. 82 shares rose while 87 shares fell. And 42 shares went to the ceiling while 7 shares dropped to the floor. Foreigners accounted for 5.69% of the buying value and 4.92% of the selling value.
The market dropped at the open and then rebounded briefly to hit a daily high of 538.84 before slipping again into negative territory and then finally closing just into the black. The daily trading range was much narrow at over 12 points although trading volume was higher again. After the end of the first session, about 5.3 million shares were offered and around 9.2 million shares were bid. And then towards the end of the day, around 6 million shares were offered and some 20.5 million shares were bid. Bids were much lower at the open but then started to build during the day and ended at high levels. Once again offers were quite stable for the whole day.
In terms of the VN index, PVF, MSN, KBC and HPG made the biggest positive contribution. And VCB, CTG, EIB and DPM made the biggest negative contribution. Sectors were mixed.
Foreign buying fell significantly in actual terms and also dropped in percentage terms. And foreign selling was sharply lower as well in actual terms and fell too in percentage terms. Foreigners turned net buyers again to the tune of VND24.66 billion worth of shares in HCMC. We saw twenty transactions in the put through market.
In the overall market foreigners were active buyers of EIB; HPG; SSI; VNM and VCB. They also sold PPC; SSI; ITC; HPG and KDC. The put through market was fairly quiet with 5 large sized deals and then some medium sized and smaller deals accounting for 4.25% of the total turnover. We saw 1,500,000 shares of STB; 264,190 shares of PHR; 185,130 shares of TRC; 167,860 shares of DPR and 120,000 shares of KBC amongst others in the put through market. Foreigners were inactive again in the put through market.
The most actively traded stock in the cash market by value was SSI which gained 2.7% to close at VND95,000 with 3.62 million shares traded. The second most active stock was STB which fell by 2.31% to VND25,400 on turnover of 2.86 million shares. Then EIB also lost ground, down by 2.3% to VND25,500 on trading volume of 2.76 million shares. PPC was up 2.9% to VND21,300 with 2.58 million shares traded. KBC jumped by 4.72% to VND66,500 with transaction volume coming to 2.11 million shares
As for the four traded funds, VFMVF4 wad flat at VND9,900, VFMVF1 was up 1.34% at VND15,100, PRUBF1 was up 1.61% at VND6,300, and MAFPF1 fell by 1.61% to close at VND6,100.
Hanoi - The Hanoi market fell somewhat in very decent turnover totaling VND1,584.02 billion or US$85.77 million. The HN index was down by 2.02% and ended the day at 179.56. 61 stocks rose while 180 stocks fell. And 9 stocks went to the ceiling while 7 stocks dropped to the floor. Foreigners accounted for 1.28% of the buying value and 0.38% of the selling value. Foreigners turned net buyers to the tune of VND14.19 billion worth of shares. We also saw ten large, medium and small sized deals in another very quiet put through session in Hanoi accounting for 1.52% of total turnover.
We saw 110,000 shares of ACB; 325,000 shares of VIG and some smaller transactions in the put through market. KLS was the most active stock and gained 0.29% to VND34,800 with 5.76 million shares traded. And PVX was the second most active stock in the cash market and dipped by 0.69% to VND28,600 with 4.15 million shares traded.
